The Brethren - Robyn Young
There are many who wonder in disbelief at why the Arab nations wants to
kill us. When you read this book, you may begin to understand why we
are where are, and how our world has fundamentally NOT changed in the
last 1000 years. (And some might point out that it is even longer.)
I have added this piece to our Book Club in hope that you will not only
enjoy a well told story, but will begin to understand that where we
have arrived in this point in history, in regards to Irag and our
continuous involvement in the Middle East, has taken us over 1000
thousand years to get here.
And so the Karmic wheel continues to turn.

From Publishers Weekly
Debut novelist Young climbs aboard the Templar bandwagon, but sets the bar high in this initial installment of a trilogy on the Knights and the last crusade. Christendom's desperate attempts to maintain a foothold in the Holy Land against a furious Muslim jihad is embodied by Sir William Campbell, a young, idealistic Knight Templar, and the devout Baybars Bundukdari, the sultan of Egypt, determined to rid the region of Western influence. Young shifts between the rival camps; there is plenty of battlefield action, and a romantic interest for William in Elwen, the beautiful young niece of his fallen mentor. There's also a mystery for William to solve: the disappearance of the Book of the Grail, which contains the explosive (and heretical) agenda of a secret group of Brethren within the Knights Templar. Combining rich historical detail, clever plotting and engaging characters, Young has crafted a historical thriller that will have readers turning pages and envisioning the sequel. (July)
Product Description An international bestseller certain to appeal to fans of The Last Templar—the thrilling first book in a sweeping medieval trilogy
On the eve of the last Crusade, two men’s destinies will come together as two great civilizations go to war. Amidst conspiracy and intrigue in Europe, Will Campbell, a young knight, risks his life to recover the stolen Book of the Grail. Hidden within its pages are the heretical plans of a secret society within the Knights Templar. Meanwhile, the former slave Baybars Bundukdari and his army have taken over Egypt and Syria, and are planning a new Holy War to bring the Crusaders to their knees.
With breathtaking battle scenes, memorable characters, and a riveting mystery at its center, Brethren (being published simultaneously with book two, Crusade, in hardcover) is a heart-stopping historical drama that brings the Middle Ages vividly to life.
